Paulist Father Chris Malano began the Eucharistic prayer as La Salette Father Jiju Abraham, left, Deacon David Bruce, second from left, La Salette Father Geronimo “Eric” Castro, second from right, and La Salette Father Valentine Sun Tun looked on.

Newly-ordained Paulist Fr. Chris Malano, CSP, recently returned home to Hawaii to celebrate a Mass of thanksgiving before heading to Austin, Texas, for his first priestly assignment as associate pastor at St. Austin Catholic Church.

While in Hawaii, Fr. Chris also celebrated several Masses, including this one covered by the Hawaii Catholic Herald, the newspaper of the Dioceses of Honolulu.

Fr. Chris was ordained on May 17, 2025, along with Paulist Fr. Ben Chisholm, CSP, at the Paulist Fathers’ Mother Church, the Church of St. Paul the Apostle in New York City.

If you or someone you know is interested in starting a talk and prayer about religious life with the Paulist Fathers, please contact our Vocations Director Fr. Ed Nowak, C.S.P., at ednowakcsp@paulist.org.
